Background:

Arkadiusz Gertych PhD is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and an Adjunct Assistant Professor in Biomedical Engineering Department at USC. Dr Gertych received his doctorate degree with honors in 2003 at Silesian University of Technology in Poland, and in 2007 completed his post-doctoral fellowship at USC in the Department of Radiology & Biomedical Engineering (IPI Lab). He has an interdisciplinary background and experience in the design and development of imaging-based computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) and pattern recognition applications in biomedicine. His contribution to the development of CAD for pediatric radiology was awarded several times by the Radiological Society of North America. He has also received a grant from the National Cancer Institute to develop new strategies for studying demethylating drug effects in cancer cell models. Dr Gertych serves also as a reviewer for several scientific journals.

Research interests: medical imaging, bioimage informatics, CAD, medical and biological image analysis.
